Nothing has ever topped the gen 2 hype season for me. I still have a magazine somewhere that came out beforehand. I read it for about 6 months straight, over and over, because it had a 20 or 30 page preview of the Japanese version. That was really the last one I cared about. I always tell myself I'll skip the next one because it's not all that fun anymore but then I end up with it anyway somehow. Might actually skip the next one because it took me 6 months to bother finishing Moon's story. It's really boring until the later half of the third island.
