The funny thing is, I've encountered THREE shinies, but I never got Pokerus in my playthroughs.

I got Pokérus in Gen 2 but never since.
I've found several shinies but never anything good, Watchog, Tranquil and Drowzee. I have several more shinies but since I used to cheat a bunch with Game Shark and Action Replay during Gen 4 and earlier I don't think any of them were legit, even if one was I wouldn't be able to remember so I just assume anything shiny I have on those carts was cheated.

I only found out recently pokerus was rarer, I also got it multiple times per gen but never found a shiny.
