It got to the point where Moot stepped in and said "Something changes or the board is kill."
What changed is that there was a pretty gud Mod that was appointed who actually cared about /vp/ and thus lead to the /vp/ that we've come to know.
Bui is an offshoot of those original days of /vp/, someone who during the sticky of Moot lashed out against the God and was ban hammered into irrelevancy.
However, For we elder/ancient posters believe we have a duty on 4chan to see our personal philosophies of how a board/site should be taken care of.
Personally, I'm a huge fan of culture and I like when boards can have relations with one another and not everything is "Muh sekret club."
Bui on the other hand comes from a line of elderfag philosophy of "A dull sword protects nothing, so the sword must always be ready." In a weird way, Bui is doing what he does because as an elderfag, he does actually care at his base level, he is just acting as the nescessary force/evil that is needed to inspire change.
The only thing that originally fixed /vp/ was having a staff who cared, in the past couple of years, the quality has slipped a little, to the point where it seems that the current staff either "Does not care", "Are improperly fortified" or "Become too loose with interpretation, to the point where the rules are what they personally like/dislike".
As such, /vp/ has dipped in quality, and called upon an ancient evil to attempt the same fix.
There is nothing we observers can do, other than give it to the /vp/ staff, if they fail, then we give it to 4chan staff.
