Eviolite actually patches the low Def of its line and Hydration+Rest is really solid on rain teams. And dragon is still a decent defensive type despite the addition of fairies.
There are two problems though: rain teams fell from grace after gen5 and nowadays every team packs at least one KnockOff. And even if you do a rain team there are normally better pokemon who need a spot in your team.
Still I had fun using Sliggoo for a bit in the ORAS meta.
