I'm starting an "alternate form" collection in pokemon bank. I'm collecting pokemon that could be lost forever if I don't have access to a specific game, not necessarily forms you can change/breed freely at will (such as wormadam cloaks or transforming legendaries).

I'm going for:
Flabebe colors
Minior colors
Unown letters
Deerling seasons
Alolan forms
Vivillon patterns

Anything else I'm missing?

I actually got them all back in the day of diamond, but I trashed the whole collection out of desperation of box space. Now I don't know if they are all available in Omega Ruby or if I can find them before I have to return the game to a friend.

What is up with the arbok patterns?

Do they still make new arbok patterns? Does a johto pattern arbok pass down its pattern if bred in kalos, or does the offspring lose the johto pattern? Are these lost forever to someone who only has a few games?

I actually got the vast majority of them by mass breeding a relatively high demand pokemon (like a fossil/glameow/etc) and then just asked for vivillon/scatterbug on GTS. After doing that for a week, I was only missing 2 (the japanese patterns stole most of my offers) and those last two patterns I got on /vp/ in some vivillon general.

it's probably much harder nowadays that X/Y are out of style

I know what you mean on the Vivillon patterns.
They are my current fixation, I currently just have the Garden x1, Modern x1, Marine x2, and the special Pokeball x1, and Fancy x2.
I love collecting them.
My native Vivillon one is High Plains which seems fairly common.

I guess if it helps, Greninja w/ Battle Bond is exclusive to the demo, and it can't breed, so might as well throw that into the list.

I'd say getting all Vivillon is harder than Unown, especially since there's two event-only Vivillon

All right, thanks. I feel pretty good about my list, except for maybe arbok which I still have no idea what's going on with the face patterns.

All info I google seems to be really vague or just fan designs of various region patterns

The Arbok Patterns are just the sprite changing between games and is not dependent on the individual Pokemon. A "Hoenn" Arbok traded up from RSE to DPP will turn into a "Sinnoh" Arbok, for instance.

Also noteable: the HGSS Arbok is the Sinnoh Arbok, the FRLG Arbok seems to be the Sinnoh Arbok, and the Kalos Arbok and Alolan Arbok seem completely identical.

Oh, almost forgot, the Unovan Arbok is also completely identical to the Sinnoh Arbok, and the Sinnoh and Kalos/Alolan Arbok are nearly identical as well, save for the top of the design losing its red dots and going from four-pronged to three-pronged.
