Ok, so you know how the main plot of SM ends. A lot like The Lord of the Rings, right?
Now, if you aren't autistic and obsessed with Middle Earth as well as Pokémon like me, you might not know that years after Frodo set sail for Valinor and after his family had grown and flourished, Samwise tried to cross the Sea in hopes of seeing Frodo again. This was not in any published edition of The Lord of The Rings, but added later in an aside from J.R.R Tolkien to retcon the ending of LotR.
Just like LotR has this quasihomosexual relationship between the two main characters being expanded upon after the publishing of the original work, so does SM. I'm betting that in USUM, that the true love between Lillie and Moon will be made unambiguously clear, even if Ohmori won't stick a low-res cutscene of the FeMC rubbing nubs with Lillie in her sofa bed.
