It had a stupidly high 80/100/200 bulk, and the Gen 3 meta saw very little in the way of strong Fighting, Steel, or Fire types.
Notice how it immediately drops to the lowest tier when the meta starts favoring things that it's weak against. Regice got lucky in that it was introduced in the last meta where defensive ice types could do something. Sneaky Pebbles may or may not have something to do with that not being the case anymore.

a lot better, but sadly not sufficiently so. It has a good movepool, being one of the few ice types with access to electric moves, but it still is a budget blissey. It goes up to at least RU for sure

actually it does, during the very early days of /bant/ I participated in a raid on a subreddit, it was there I learned that reddit users have to to tap enter twice to get a new line, doing the same creates the eponymous "reddit spacing" that has been growing increasingly common throughout the boards
