Fuck steel. There's nothing that wouldn't be better by being half-steel type, even Alolan Sandlash is better despite the quad weakness to fire and fighting. It's so fucking retarded how it resists so many stuff, it's retarded how in spite of it being a shitty type Steel types always get some kind of utility or nice niche.

Just look at the smogon tiers - literally only gimmicky shitmons of the steel type are PU.

There are exactly 4 fire type pokemon that I like.
Chandelure, Volcarona, Salandit, and Salazzle.

I have never picked a fire type starter.
I don't give a fuck about fire type coverage in game since so many things learn fucking flamethrower.

Even though I think Fairy completely fucked up the chart and made it more unbalanced than ever, there are a handful of fairy types I have like. AND Fairy gave my favorite type, poison, a buff. Shit, even Rock has some pretty great pokemon. There isn't a single fossil I outright hate.

But Fire? Nah. No thanks.

Either Dragon or Fire. Dragon because I'm still not over how you were essentially required to run a Steel type in gen 4/5 because Outrage spam was so viable. It's just an obnoxiously powerful type and I am forever grateful to Fairy for kicking it in the dick.
Fire because I dislike all the fire starters, but especially Charizard. My favorite type is Grass.

Butthurt Dragon/Fightingfags probably. Steel is much worse than Fairy, and Water close behind it. The most of truly dangerous Fairy types are the Tapus, who are great because of their busted abilities, not typing except Lele. Plus for every Fairy in OU, there are like 3 Steels and 2 Waters.

Not a nostalgiafag, at least Steel type is cool and has a consistent theme regardless of how strong it is in game. Fairy type has a shit theme, it's literally just ugly girly pink shit. That's it's theme. And don't even get me started on Fairy type attacks, what the fuck does the moon have to do with Slurpuff or Mr. Mime and Gardevoir? What even is playing rough. Fairy is really just random inconsistent shit and it's the only type that's like that.

Plus, fairy is by absolutely no means a bad type in battle anyways, though I would agree with you that steel can be more annoying.

Fairies are overpowered retard, not just the Tapu's. Even their moves are more powerful than their other type equivalents. Every pokemon that gains the Fairy type is functionally better in every way, its only weaknesses are to shit types that can barely do anything offensively in the first place.

Fairy type essentially made it so that no Dragon type that isn't a mega/legendary can have any competitive presense near them anymore.

Steel has 4 verifiable weaknesses, all of which are semi-decent offensive types, and next to no offensive viability, not to mention is was already nerfed a gen ago.

My point was that Fairy doesn't have a consistent theme. The idea of Moon Blast in itself doesn't make any sense.

Electric types use electricity, steel types hit people with metal, psychic types hit people with psychic powers. Fairy types kiss people, play "rough?" with people, and shoot beams of energy from the moon at people. It's obvious why Scyther is a bug type. Why is Slurpuff a fairy type? Because it's pink? Because it smells good? Because it's cute? What makes Jigglypuff a fairy? What IS a fairy in pokemon?

If you gave a person who had no knowledge of pokemon a type list and asked them to identify the shared type of three random fairy types, say Xerneas, Tapu Bulu, and Dedenne, I doubt they would guess right.

It seems to me the fairy fanbase isn't so much about enjoyment of the type itself, but good designs the type does have (most of which were retconned and well-liked before the type change) and for smug shitposting using images like pic related.

This is the most retarded thing you've said. Forgetting we're thinking about THREE fucking mon, this could be sai about ANY type. Would half OU be there if they weren't steel type ? Would water type be there if they weren't water types ?
Not only that but Mimikyu and Clefable are actually there because they both have wonderful abilities and movepool, and mega mawile is there because it's a mega.

It was made so they weren't rampant anymore, don't you remember gen4 meta ? Although i would have preferred them to buff ice, it wasn't a bad decision and dragon aren't dead but they aren't all powerful anymore.

the problem with steel is that if you're not hitting it super effectively, you're hitting it not very effectively, which is most types in the game.

Agreed Altaria was broken in gen 4 literally a PU shitmon was the staple of competitive by any means, even Ubers feared an Outrage Altaria. Fairies were the bestt!!11!!1!!11

It's also thematically just a very obvious bait for overtly "cool" pokemon, whereas the best way fire pokemon can be are the cute/elegant aspects of fire. Pokemon like Growlithe, Chimchar, Nintales, Magcargo, or Darmanitan
