I really like his Tangrowth set. Better than the Smogon ones right now. I easily got >1100 Elo using some of his sets.

Tangrowth:
>Regenerator
Amazing defensive ability now for recovery every time you switch out.
>Assault Vest
Good item to boost Special Defense; Tangrowth doesn't need Leftovers because of Regenerator. Just switch it out and easily regain HP.
>Calm
Good nature to boost its weaker special bulk. Pairs well with Assault Vest.
>Sleep Powder
Puts the opponent to sleep. Gives you turns to set up.
>Amnesia
Boosts Tangrowth's poor Special Defense to respectable levels. Really pairs well with the extra Assault Vest boost and Calm nature.
>Ingrain
Adds healing because this set isn't running Leftovers. Pairs well with Regenerator for extra healing.
>Swords Dance
Turns Tangrowth into a surprise offensive threat.

Verlisify gets too much shit around here.

I found that set, while innovative to be sure, a tad underwhelming.

First, it only hits 327 speed. So it loses to positive nature base 100s.

Second, Tangrowth has great set up moves, and it's very hard to set up with a Choice Scarf unless you switch into a predicted Knock Off. The surprise factor is always a positive, though.

Third, it lacks special bulk that you get from Calm nature + Assault Vest + Amnesia.

Just to clarify, here are some common Q&As:

That way if the opponent uses Knock Off or Trick you aren't a sitting duck.

>Why run Calm instead of Careful?
To lessen damage from confusion or Foul Play.

>Why run Swords Dance without any attacks?
The strategy is to get to +6 attack, then PP stall until you sweep with Struggle.
