>>33018697Best worldbuilding in the whole franchise. Took mundane Kanto and turned it into a futuristic utopia with every city given its own unique spin (Lavender Town is full of ancient ruins, Fuschia hosts famous commemorative races, Seafoam Islands are evolutionary stone hotspots.) I loved his architectural designs and general backgrounds, and of course the Pokemon reimaginings.
The stories are nice, neat and satisfying, the comedy gets a few chuckles and the more dramatic bits are really memorable (The Black Fog and Charizard at the League come to mind.) I really like how he drew action scenes too, the Pokemon looked feral and powerful when they were fighting, not something that can be easily achieved.
While I would have loved for it to continue and possibly integrate more game elements into the story, I think it ended on a good note instead of being dragged out and becoming a shambling mess.
Never cared for the fanservice. I wish EToP would be remembered for more than just that whenever discussion crops up, it did have a lot of good going for it.
