USUM wouldn't exist if Gen 7 was on Switch, since you can still play the original DP on a 3DS unlike ORAS.
As a result of us ALREADY being buckled up for Gen 8, that also means the first set of games will be rushed, and GameFreak will only then be able to slow down and actually put in some effort for DP Remakes or the Third Version of Gen 8.
And that's assuming they don't want to celebrate the 25th Anniversary, which is also pretty big since that's a quarter of a way to the big 100.
But if the 25th is celebrated, that means the next Nintendo Handheld/Hybrid is already on the way, so they'll have to rush that Generation and the Generation on the next platform, too!
It literally never ends.
