Lol nah but it is definetly over 2000 now with all the crappy IVed or Natured ones or really good ones thanks to a lot of trading. Lead me to getting two Pokebanks just to hold them all and my event mons.

Right now? None, I don't like hatching eggs or waiting 5 hours for a shiny to appear, shinys are supposed to appear randomly during the games, forcing it makes it so boring and less special.

My first shiny was a wurmple who evolved in a dustox. ;_;

My second was beedrill and I loved her.

Me third was a female Roserade but my deleted my file.

My fourth and final was a Male Chikorita as starter when I was resetting for a female cyndaquil. I didn't like it so I reseted the game again for a female Cyndaquil.

And ironically my first caught non story shiny was a freaking Shiny Rayquaza I soft reset for weeks for. But some asshole stole it and my SP fhe cart was in while I was on vacation. Aside from that the first shiny I ever caught and kept was a shiny cottonee I named Puck. Still have him to this day and find it super funny Whimsicott became part Fairy and not Liligant who literally is a Flower Fairy Princess lmao. But hey makes the nickname even better.

I restarted a new game in SS and got shiny Poliwag, Ponyta, and Raticate.

In White, I got Ditto, Boldore

Y, I found Druddigon and Graveler both in Victory Road and I hatched a shiny Bergmite.
I used the pokeradar and found Spoink, Bibarel, Pancham, Smeargle, Chatot, Drifloon, Trevenant, Slowpoke,Zigzagoon, Weedle, two Volbeat back to back, and Zoroark. Since I used the Pokeradar, I can see people claiming they're not legit (although ZIgzagoon, was literally the first grass patch, so it may have been the same encounter rate as a regular shiny.)
Some kind anons here traded me shiny Basculin and Hoppip.

OR, I got Altaria through the Dexnav

Finally, I got Bonsly while trying to SOS chain for a Happiny. I joked to myself that I would find a shiny Bonsly before I found a Happiny and a few minutes later one appeared.

While they are data they have MEANING behind them, like an email you get from a loved one or a passing grade in math so you get to graduate. Or how about when Gen 8 comes around and the PokeTriad has gotten even better anti hacking tricks to prevent use of hacked pokemon online, resulting in people selling all their extra legit shinies on ebay for 100 bucks like after Gen 6 launch. Could they be just scams? Sure, but if the seller and buyer are both good people, and buying a legit shiny pokemon would make your little sibling cousin or young child happy especially if its nicknamable, why the fuck not?

My point is its how people view them and assign them worth. Look at economies you could say most if not all are worthless in the sense that if you destroyed paper cash or gold coins, you are not really losing or gaining anything. That is unless you yourself see the value of that currency or now lack their of. Like here its us who see value in some of our shinies and not in others, cause we are not all cynical assholes like yourself. Whose so insecure about themself they have to try and bully people on the internet like every other immature prick.

I've caught myself 102 so far. A lot though were due to horde battles and such so they weren't as hard to get. Most "rare" shinies I've caught are Lugia, Latios, and Zekrom.

I've only had 4 full odds shinies, a Meowth in FireRed, a Joltik in my first playthrough of black (battery died before i could finish saving), and then a Shiny Sentret in HeartGold and a Zubat in platinum that I found a week from eachother, and in terms of hunting i'd say i have about 50

Random encountered shinies were Gumshoos and Hariyama. Golisopod was the "soft reset in front of Wimpod" method. Everything else was SOS.
I managed to hatch one shiny Eevee by accident while trying to get one with good IVs, and gave it to a friend.

Its nice hearing your stories peeps and sorry for the rant lmao, but not by trading for me its 100 via random encounters breeding in game event etc maybe 30 with all the event ones and some clones of them. Though thanks to a lot good friends and random people a couple hundred on top of that that I know for sure were hand bred hand caught etc. But these are rough estimates. Once I finally get caught up on ORAS and event legends will finally organize it all in terms of a spreadsheet or something. Would make trading hell of a lot easier.

Also did they shiny lock a lot of the legendaries particularly the event ones just to do random giveaways later? Like...why not just have the chance to get them shiny in any game they appear in event or otherwise lol.

Also they need to let you nickname ANY event or traded mon. Cause god dang it who would not laugh if their friend sent out Event Shiny Tapu Koko nicknamed Blakok or something? Or random wifi battles at that since BS has to be oh so pure and be without nicknames.

From the top of my head, I have the following:
Hoppip, Pidove, Zorua, Mienfoo, Marowak, Bouffalant, Watchog, Tympole, Floatzel, Alomomola, Dragonair, Sunkern, Absol, Riolu, Growlithe, Sylveon, Sawk, Spritzee, Sigilyph, Hawlucha, Marill and Gligar.

So about 20 Shinies. Half of them were me abusing the random encounter rate, 5 of them were from the Friend Safari, 3 of them were Masuda Method mons, 2 of them were by trading and 2 of them were found without the intent of hunting a Shiny. Gligar in particular I got via Wonder Trade. I want to find the player again because I feel like that Gligar was sent by accident, but that won't happen any time soon.

My first Shiny was Hoppip and I found it in 2010. Since then, I started hunting Shinies for fun, but nowadays Shiny hunting bores me and it doesn't surprise me anymore when I find one, even when it's completely random. Guess that's what happens when you spend too much time Shiny hunting.
