Is a large region with 90-120 new Pokemon, lots of good dungeons and a substantial post-game just too much to ask for now?

Is there a point in me even continuing with this franchise if its likely I'll never get any of these things?

Possible, but unlikely. They've gone on record to say they want to slow down the amount they introduce in a new gen.

While DP and BW did have good post games, I wouldn't call them substantial. If USM is missing such a thing as well, by all means fall into despair.

I just want a mainline game to feel like an actual adventure again. It's a shame GF decided to take the laziest route possible with the series (including more story, focus less on everything else) instead of emphasizing what the games were originally about and expanding on it.

Played GSC and Emerald after SM and those games are still the most fun I've had with this series in terms of main game content.
