I have rarely seen any hate on third version games from /vp/. Emerald, Platinum and Crystal are consistently towards the top of game rankings.

I don't hate them, it's just the concept that I hate.

They just should stop doing this if it's not a sequel (or a really big what if), it's not an acceptable thing to do nowadays.
There was not enough changes in platinum/emerald/crystal to justify the buy if you have already played the previous version.
It's just the fucking definitive version. (thing that shouldn't even exist)

Just make the original game good enough in the first place, for fuck's sake!

Oh god my sides. The only good things about gen 3 were abilities and FRLG. It was almost as shit as gen 4 where the only good things were Physical/Special split and HGSS

I don't remember but I think Surskit is available in Emerald once you beat E4 and it shows up in swarms after you look at flashy TVs.

I love playing Sapphire and still do even though there's a better version of the game, but it's only for personal nostalgia points: when I was 13 I didn't have a GBA and my father installed an emulator in his own PC (the only one on the house at that time) so I could play Sapphire. It was a good summer.
I won't deny Emerald is better in every way, though.
