Never. They're the past. It's nice to remember the teams you've used, but they're not the stars anymore. Even in competitive. If i liked a team in the past, I'll work to build a new version of that team.

Only the ones that can't be obtained in the newest games. I always catch every Pokemon available in a new game before I transfer the rest over. Gives me something to do after the league because >implying postgame.

Pal Park feature is cool. I tried doing that.
But then again you can meet Gen 3 mons in the HGSS Safari Zone if you arrange the environments correctly and wait for a while.

Pretty much this. Though I also transfer all the mons I used in my previous in-game teams and fully-evolved mons that can't be caught in the wild so I don't have to always evolve them.
