Mega Evolution isn't a Digimon ripoff. Mega is strictly a dub only term in Digimon. The Japanese level ranks are Baby 1 > Baby 2 > Child > Adult > Perfect > Ultimate. I doubt the Japanese devs are aware of dub terms for a minor competitor and the idea of a temporary transformation that is super powerful isn't exactly unique.
