isnt around 3 items per pokestop normal? I just walk between two gym with 4 pokestops between them, so since im gold in both gyms, its like 8 pokestops total or 1.3 per minute. Its not bad since theres also two massive spawn areas included in the route and its usually "collect pokestops, catch pokemon, collect pokestop, rinse, repeat" all the time

I managed a 250k spree last night between eggs and evos.

Probably got another 100k from raids. I wasn't checking XP gains, but non egg it was ticking up more than 12k. Egged the rest after I saw that shit.

Haven't had the chance to try a legendary raid today, but I did find a wild Blissey, which was nice. I've never even seen a Chansey before. Too bad it's 218 and has shit IVs.

Also found a Larvitar, Totodile, Bulbasaur, Chikorita on my run. Have they increased the chances of getting rarer Pokemon for the event? If so that's really great news.

It's a low chance but yes
+20 stardust guaranteed, not sure the odds but there's a rare chance you get a candy from each berry to the Pokemon you're feeding

I think having a high medal helps too, I only see it in my Silver and Gold Gyms

You can't rush the evo animation.
Usually people name the Pokemon to something that'll get sorted by name to the top of the list so that they don't have to spend time scrolling.

60 isn't bad for a newbie attempt but you definitely should've gotten a lot more if you used a Lucky Egg while the event exp bonus is going on.

So, a tactic my wife and I use to get just a tiny bit of extra XP out of our mons, when we have a mon we would otherwise get rid of, we rename them name instead. Then use them to battle at gyms, usually even shitmons can get past one or two fights, then we just transfer them at 0HP rather than reviving or healing them. It's even more effective now, since even a lost battle lowers the enemy stamina a little bit. It gets some XP and the waves of low attackers softens the gym a little bit for our real mons to take it down more easily.

Also, it's a fun image dumping a pile of dozens and dozens of 0hp Pigettos and other low-tier pokemon at Willow like so much compost.

I did the math, 0.02 catch rate, according to go hub golden razz increases your catch rate by 25% 0.02 x 0.25 = 0.025 = odds of 1 catch for every 40 successful throws, about 75 successful throws and most with at least a great bonus if not excellent (no way to be 100% certain the spin registered as a curveball unless it catches as I'm not very good at them and a miss is not worth it with limited balls) and gold medal in flying and psychic, silver in ice, I should have caught at least 1, probably 2, 3 if you round the odds up.

At least I found 2 Dratinis, but shit even the gyms that werent legendaries were terrible all day

I know there's a Chikorita nest near my work and I still need enough to evolve the little faggot, but overall the mons I'm finding are shit. At least the 10km eggs are amazing. A Mareep, Dratini and 3 Larvitars for me on the day was nice.

The worst part is one person in the group caught every single one and one of the articunos was on the first ball with a pinap, about four of our group of almost 30 got none. Hopefully tomorrow after work my time will come, I just want them for dex completion and because articuno's been my favorite legendary since I was 6 and the movie gave lugia a connection to the kanto birds so from a lore standpoint they're all pretty cool, couldn't care less if they're useless.

I name all of my throwaways (rattata, pidgey, marill, etc) with the number 1. They're automatically at the top of the list. I name all of my keepers 2. I can blast through about 60-70.

As for rushing the animation, you can actually, x out of the stat screen of the newly-evolved mon before it finishes it's cry. It saves a few milliseconds, but it adds up to an extra three evos if you do it right.

Why not use that same method?

Have pokecenters where you can place a trade offer, stating "have this pokemon (a full screen of data on it with things such as appraisal, species, moveset, and battles won if you want fluff) and want X pokemon, who wants to trade me?" but your name isnt on display, only your pokemon

Honestly I think the increased spawn rate was the most important bonus.

If you are catching 2x as many pokemon, you are already getting x2 stardust and exp. The fact that those too have been boosted only magnifies the effect.

For example, incense has NEVER worked right for me. I know incense is meant to spawn pokemon every 200m or every 5 minutes, but for me its always been 5 minutes wether im moving or not.

And the golden berries seem to work for some pokemon and not for others.

And some types are weak to some others, while others are resistant, and IIRC when a pokemon types make it weak AND resistant to something, it should come oput as neutral? Yet my experience with dragonite, mine or the opponent's, is that I always see a "super effective" message when affected by electric attacks

Niantic can't manage to understand the gradients of type effectiveness and the overlap for dual types. It's fucking annoying. When something should be 4x effective, it's still only 2x effective. When something should have immunity, it just says "not very effective". I'd love the option of more than just two moves and I'd rather the tm's be available for purchase or at least changing to a specific move something you can select the move and buy the better/worse ones. How many raid parties do you think will show up later in the week?

People showed up and went out everywhere because it was the first new legendary release and also because it was a Sunday, when 99% of the population has a day off.

Nobody's going to fucking show up to Articuno raids on Tuesday afternoon at 2pm by the docks.

The only thing Niantic fucked up was the timing of the release announcement and not making the legendaries available starting Saturday morning.

I live in Chicago and friends of mine hat didn't attend the event couldn't see the same spawns as me. So no porygon, unown or heracross for them. So it definitely wouldn't show up for spoofers

I really doubt you'd find enough people who'd leave work and get home to reach a local legendary raid party.

I want to drive out to downtown tomorrow but I doubt I'll see anything close to what I saw today on a Monday. Doubt I'll find 10 competent people who'd want to do an easy Articuno. There were large crowds but they were lv 20 shitters who quit after the summer ended last year. Maybe like 5 autists like me with decent mons who knew how to change team picks before the raid started. Imagine losing most of the autists because they have work while I'm a NEET and the latecomers who might show up probably have shitmons 100%.

The best thing about legendary raids staying would be that you could stockpile on maxed out legendaries to do more legendary raids with. Hell, maybe solo lv 4 raids with (probably not lv 4 but one can dream).

The real best thing would be getting a legendary that has better than fucking 70% IV perfection because the CP difference matters a shitton for something like Lugia.

People were still standing in 4 hour long lines, no cell reception for the majority of the people within the park, and global catches weren't counting. The catch competition was canned immediately. I think that raids aren't really active late at night, or at least that's what it feels like for me.

Before 8AM and after 11PM I hardly see any raids anywhere, but between those two times about 30-50 percent of gyms have a raid or an egg going on.

I have no problems taking down Blissey gyms because I'm a high level with good pokemon. You work on something (taking down Blissey gyms) and you get a reward (coins).
