Here's a couple on-the-spot ideas:
>Ghost Gym
>Leader: Carnie - juggling girl in early 20s who dresses like a clown, make-up on one side of her face, prone to manic-to-depressive mood swings, likes to spin
>Team: Dusknoir, Golurk, Drifblim, Chandelure, Mismagius
>Gimmick: Entire Gym is set in a broken-down, scary amusement park ride, you have to ride the slow-moving, broken rail cart to the end. The cart loses charge at each fairytale set, so you have to get out with a flashlight and look for a new battery in the dark to continue. Trainers diguise themselves as broken, posing animatronics, and will actively hunt you down to battle while your light doesn't shine on them.
>Flying Gym
>Leader: Boey - Airline CEO with a flavour for expensive suits, wristwatches, and hair & mustache gel, pompous and arrogant, but a man of honor
>Team: Skarmory, Braviary, Yanmega, Toucannon, Gliscor
>Gimmick: Entire Gym takes place in an airport, you have to ride color-coded baggage conveyor belts to different rooms and use keycards to clear different security levels. Some battles will be fought in secyrity scanner zones, where all your items will be placed on a conveyor and cannot be used or recollected until you reach the end of the zone.
>Fairy Gym
>Leader: Freddie - A song & dance instructor who runs a studio in the city, loves nothing more than to see young stars succeed, rocks a leotard like you wouldn't believe
>Team: Togekiss, Gardevoir, Alolan Ninetales, Mr. Mime, Granbull
>Gimmick: Entire Gym is a dance studio where you have to move on the floor to the beat of the background music, with blinking & lit tiles to indicate what's safe and not safe to stand on. If you miss a step, two Wigglytuff carry your ass back to the start of each musical floor until you can master the motions.
I really like the Ghost gym personally.
