Because it's been a decade since we got third versions. Because the last 3 set of games have been a disappointment. Because i don't believe Gamefreak can actually make a good game.

I don't see a single reason right now why i should be thinking about buying it.
Maybe I'll be wrong and they'll be good. Actually i want to be wrong, i hope i am wrong. If they somehow turn out to be good games I'll gladly buy both versions.

Watch as GameFreak blames third versions in general for being why they sold poorly and not learn anything from their mistakes with weighing marketing filler over quality content. Gen 8 will be Sun and Moon all over again but without the third versions or remake tie-in.

XY-ORAS-SM all were.

Sequels are totally better than a triad. Everyone always migrates to
Emerald equivalent and people don't have to trade anymore. Why even
have two versions if there's just going to be a master race version later on?
Having a sequel of BOTH versions is subjectively a cooler option.
