Just finished playing Splatoon, but it's hard to imagine how to implement sweet Pokemon mechanics instead of just reskinning Splatoon. ((Ripping out field phase from pokken to let pokken be a fighting game and putting field phase on real maps would be cool though.))

Or there's Odin Sphere. Pretty scenery and fun beat 'em up Pokemon? Hell yeah.
