If I wanted online I'd just play showdown. It's free, it actually works on my phone so I can play it whenever I want, and it offers more options than the official games do. The post game facilities are the only reason to bother playing on cart.

Objectively incorrect, ORAS has the Battle Maison.

If you're not counting that as a Battle Frontier, you really can't count HGSS either. It just copypasted Platinum's, which was severely dumbed down compared to Emerald's.

By that logic, turning Set Mode on is also shooting yourself in the foot, and Switch Mode makes every Pokemon game easy, so this is a non-issue.

It was the most retarded decision yet. Not to mention excluding a lot of good features for no reason other than laziness. That's why even without the physical/special split, Emerald did Hoenn better than ORAS did.

I think the reason ORAS was based on RS instead of E was because they probably didn't have the time to include shit like the Battle Frontier or gym rematches and so just opted to do just a RS remake. You shouldn't blame them for just 8 months of development, plus they were doing SM on the side and needed even more time.

They had a lot more though and weren't doing SM on the side. There's two teams, and the team that did XY was working on SM, while the ones working on ORAS, hadn't worked on anything else since BW2.

The battle tower existed on that island in Ru/Sa and that is the same island the Frontier took over. It wasn't a new location.
