Almost 5 years ago, a bunch of anons on /vp/ set out to create something special.
What started out as an effort to create a brand new Pokédex soon evolved into a game dev project the likes of which had never been seen before.
Scores of anonymous posters, all working together on equal footing to cobble together an homage to the games that had shaped their lives so heavily.
As the months turned into years, new faces arrived and old faces faded away.
A bunch of amateurs, most of which with absolutely no experience, slowly started to assemble a monument to their love for a game about collecting monsters.
We have finally reached a great milestone: the completion of our Demo 2.0. The countless combined efforts of everyone, from simple survey voting anons to masterful artists, has let us accomplish this release.
http://capx.wikia.com/wiki/Demo This is the link to the Demo page. On it, you'll find a link to the download, along with the feedback and bug report surveys.
Playtime is 8-10 hours and goes for 3 gyms.
Yes, this is for real.
If you ever want to help make the rest, post your Discord.
Thanks for waiting for us, /vp/

Reminder that if a pokemon that evolves by leveling up with a move can level up, learn the move after that level up as a result in battle, and then that causes them to evolve when the battle ends, then kertruffle should be able to evolve into perishrhoom by it leveling up and then fainting in the same battle.

To be fair I realised that I like way more of the dex than I'm used to in these games (stuff like the Paramoth line I found completely forgettable when scrolling through the dex, but ended up loving in-game), so I kept grinding up new things & then going back to old mons every so often to grind them up too because I suck at letting go

I've spent anywhere from 6 hours to 15 in a run. Especially if you do all the fun stuff like rematches and go and catch mons and talk to NPCs and explore the maps.

My game just crashed after I wiped for the 10th time against Cameron. Giving his Glocto Eviolite is really overshooting it, the damn thing already is quite tanky while still having a strong special attack. 2 of it's 3 weaknesses are mostly physical and also weak to water which means that trying to do anything with Ground or Stone Moves will barely work and will most likely result in getting burned by it's ability.

>>33155764 As someone who lurked around the wiki for a long time waiting for the new demo I am so far enjoying it. Just entered Dronia city and I have 6 hours of playtime.
I really like the music of Tremol Town, the caves, the forest, and the jerk rival theme. The balance so far is good and it really feels like a Pokemon game (down to the NPC interactions). I also love the town designs; gosh, you even went so far as giving the Pokemon Centers distinct designs.
I also love a lot of the Pokemon inside the game, the starter desicion was reallyyy hard this time. There are of course some issues with some attack animations and some music not looping correctly but I asume due to it being a demo some things were left just so you could brag with something.
Longer feedback will be given in the survey once I finish playing it. But so far I am really enjoying. You guys are amazing, keep it up =)

I'm very casual so i dont know most tricks, but i mostly used:
1-fake out
2-quick attack if close to death
3-faint attack if not
The silk scarf helped a little but overall he was mostly a drag to the team, i'm playing to evolve it now and he learned slash now so might get better but overall it and chelonite were the weakest links of the team (the former because he was very frail while lacking offensive options and the latter for the amount of weaknesses).
Anonymous

Anonymous
>>33155808 >people ignoring this post on purpose because they can't acknowledge the fact he's right Anonymous
>>33158549 Every RMXP game I have played up until this point you can do it flawlessly between versions. This is because things like switches (which I know from constantly cheating years back) which are embedded in the save file tend to remain constant in between revisions. Other things conserved are map locations (so if they introduce a wall you end up in you are fucked) and party/team etc which probably just references rgssad so as long as your values don't change it will be fine in between versions.
Also, the devs just said that the saves from 2 will work in other demos from now on, so it should be fine. If you want to play with another save file go to C:\Users\USERNAME\Saved Games and back up the Sage folder. There is an RMXP thing that someone wrote that they can introduce to allow multiple saves but I don't know if it stuffs things up or not.
