>>33181825I think the problem is that you guys don't understand the most basic thing about character design, anatomy and have no observational skills whatsoever so you just believe whatever you want to believe without looking at the facts.
Just take a look at your crappy webm (which I am assuming you think looks good judging by that filename), Charmander looks like shit, it's anatomy is completely fucked up, just look at him trying to spit fire, it looks like it's going to fall on its head or break its neck.
Charmander has no neck, it's arms are too short and undefined so they clash against it's legs that actually have claws. The shape of its face is really weird and most artists (including sugi) don't know how to foreshorten it. It's head is either not big enough for it's body or not small enough. Considering charmander is a starter its design has been pretty inconsistent and has been drawn pretty different in a lot of official artwork and it think that's the result of its iffy design.
Charmeleon basically fixes everything wrong with charmander though.
Oh, and charmander originally had what you guys like to describe as "souless kawaii uguu" anime eyes. And it looked better with them.
