>people STILL don't understand what the PGL placeholder images mean after it's been explained a gorillion times
Listen up nignogs. The PGL has placeholder images for Raticate Form 2, Mimikyu Form 2 and 3, and Lycanroc Form 4. The games' internal numbering system for forms starts at zero. All Totems except Wishiwashi are coded as distinct forms, and there's a separate Totem version of each of Mimikyu's two forms. Thus the placeholders for these two Pokemon are already accounted for; Raticate-2 is Totem Raticate, Mimikyu-2 is Totem Mimikyu in Disguised Form, and Mimikyu-3 is Totem Mimikyu in Busted Form. They are NOT getting new forms in USUM.
Lycanroc is a different case however. The placeholder image is labeled Form 4, but Lycanroc currently only has two forms, Form 0 (Midday) and Form 1 (Midnight). This means there are three forms unaccounted for. If Midday Lycanroc is a Totem in USUM (which its appearance in the trailer seems to indicate) it stands to reason that Midnight Lycanroc will be a Totem in the opposite version, like Gumshoos and Raticate in SM. Also, it's pretty much a given at this point that Ash's Rockruff won't evolve into either existing form, and a new form halfway between Midday and Midnight (the so-called Twilight Form) would make sense and would explain the placeholder numbering.
TL;DR: There's only one new Lycanroc form and the two existing forms are Totems in USUM. Now quit being retarded.
