Decidueye is so perfect, so awe-inspiring. Game Freak outdid themselves with it: an owl, wise and majestic, yet the thematic association they gave it with archery giving it a mysterious vibe, the veil an intimidating aura. Lithe and fit, a killer, an assassin, the natural predatory persona of a clever owl given a logical conclusion. I wouldn't want to be pierced by one of its arrows, although I've been hit with its metaphorical one of adoration. How could I argue against this perfection? That it is a starter pokemon, allowing you to take it with you from the very first step of your journey as a trainer: a SUCCESSFUL one simply by default by having this magnificent creature at your side, steeled eyes darting back and forth, protecting you and the others you raise.
