I've known GF was all about the money since Crystal. Been waiting for third versions and skipped any remakes of games where I've already played the original. Ended up playing X pretty late because of that, due to it not getting an upgrade, and got all the Memory Link bonuses in White 2 from a friend's White 1 save.
I have more than enough to get every game that gets released, but it'd be pointless to buy an inferior product when something better will typically come out, or to get the same thing over again. It's as silly as buying a worn out, shitty car, and then buying a luxury vehicle for the same price months later, or buying another refrigerator when the current one is still working perfectly.
