>>33224665Gen 5 was hit or miss, but had some amazing designs like Gigalith, Krookodile, Hydreigon, and Volcarona. Gen 6 was pretty meh, but things like Trevenant stand out. Gen 7 had overall great designs in Golisopod, Dhelmise, Araquanid, the starters, Lycanroc, etc.
Region design is fine, the tropical aesthetic to Alola is great.
3D models only look worse than sprites for some Pokemon (ex. Xatu and Skarmory). A lot of Pokemon transitioned well or, in some cases, look better than they did as sprites. And all of the new Pokemon look great as 3D models.
Design is going in a fantastic direction!
