Dynamode
Switches the battle from turn bases to grid based. Battle is played on a 6x6 grid. Larger than tic tac to, smaller than a 9x9 Go board.
Simplifies the battle and only factors in health, your Pokemon stronger attack and defense stat, and speed.
Moves are replaced with simple attack commands. A=small and B=heavy.
Speed affects how many squares you can move in a turn between 0 and 3, as well as how many times you can attack. For example, Pikachu could move two spaces and do one attack, or move one space and attack twice. Compare to the Action Point mechanics from Fallout 1 and 2.
Sp Atk can hit a couple spaces away and physical atk can only hit in front of you.
Movement is very fast and dynamic. If you have 3 movements you have to tap the movement direction quickly or your turn ends.
In story mode, this is sometimes triggered by NPCs, but you can trigger it yourself by equiping a special item with properties to "strengthen your bond in battle". Activates a trigger on the move list just like Mega Evolution but it takes place instantly. It lasts until the user is withdrawn or defeated and can't be used twice in the same match.
