I believe that he was made immortal by the cannon, but he still grew because why not.

Floette's petals were probably common back then, but are rare/extinct now. Its special-ness comes from being revived, or living so long.

Basically, magic bullshit that barely makes sense.

As cool as this would be (sea ruins in BW talked about a war too so it's possible) I don't trust Gamefreak to do any long running lore stuff. They're trying but they're making it overly complex just with the "Fallers" and ties to all the ORAS bullshit.

That's 'cause his story is fragmented as fuck. Part of it is explained in normal play through, part of it in the obscure library of Lysandre Labs that you really have to look for to find and only during the Ultimate Weapon arc because it will be replaced by Essentia suit info if you do the Looker missions, and the last bit is from an interview with Masuda in 2013.

I still hold that Floette was originally going to return before the final Az battle, so they had to make a special version of it for him (which is also why Rest was taken out of its learnset). At some point they decided Floette returning was a more poignant note to end the game on, so it ended up going unused. Now it's just junk data.

His story was already told in XY, and he's actually the one character outside of the Looker Bureau who is fully explored. There's not really anything else you need to do with him.

Unlike, say, Trevor, who has that baggage with his parents abandoning him and his sister to instead travel the world as Trainers that the game never delves into beyond that tidbit you only find by talking to a specific NPC in Lumiose.

Why the fuck didn't AZ destroy the key to the Ultimate Weapon if he ended up creating it so much? The end of the Flare arc also shows us the weapon can destroy itself, so why didn't he do that?
