To be fair, there's never been a BAD Pokemon game. ORAS was considered by many to be bad for a Pokemon game, but on its own it's pretty decent. USUM are probably going to be like most of the games before it and be pretty good, but get polarizing love/hate opinions until a month or two after release.

I agree with this. We're clearly outside the demographic for the games, but GF knows there is a loyal fanbase that has been with the franchise for a decade if not longer. Is it really that hard to create an option that allows us to skip the "how to catch a pokemon" cut scene at the beginning of every single game, or give the game a bit of a challenge with a "difficulty setting?
