Tell me about Kukui, why isn't he married in the anime? The trial captains kept their pendant things despite Trial Captains not existing in the anime, yet Kukui's wedding ring is mysteriously absent.

Maybe because her work specializes in dimensions in Sun and Moon which they're not covering apparently so they'd have to come up with some explanation for what she's doing and they didn't want to bother.

Best Wishes treated Isshu as a sort of prequel to Iris becoming a Gym Leader. Considering we have many episodes of SM to come, it wouldn't be far fetched to suggest the same is being done with Kukui's love life, and that his wife-to-be will appear later in the series, once Royal Mask makes an appearance.
