>>33259021Okay. I'll give you that i'm being mean to a fictional character when i should be by all means heaping my shit onto the writers.
But you cannot lump a player of pokemon through several generations with Ash!
There is a major difference between how i and what i understand other people play the games and how Ash acts in his own reality.
We players are not the same person every game whether we pretend to be the character (who has different parents and motivations each game) or pretend to be ourselves as the shifting humans we are. Every new generation we gain the ability to send our old teams to the next generation with the Pokemon Bank being the ultimate form of this. Nobody i know who has pokemon hasn't utilized either the bank or other transfer methods to keep around our old friends through the years as long we can.
I tend to clear out my entire boxes of pokemon regardless of their rarity or purpose after finishing a game to bring them with me. Even the hm bitches when they were a thing. Maybe i'm some form of autismal but i just don't like the idea of leaving relatively complex data with basic emotional matrixes to rot away on old cartriges or be deleted for new games.
Heck, i used to go to blockbuster video to save pokemon made during rental times by pulling them into the farm on the wii because i didn't want them to die.
Ash just drops off the pokemon at Oak's and forgets them, again, until they're convenient.
