Why do people assume this? Of course the bar drains fast when going from 100% to 0% or 20%, it's the same as in SM. Just wait until we see it drain smaller precentages.

Ehh, I didn't exactly mind the scribble as actual aesthetics, I was more upset it would hide more of the actual battle screen wise (the ambient, bar in front of pokemon, that stuff).

With this new bar, it's more contained, but at the same time, it's fucking boring as hell.

Will they ever bring back the 1HP jingle song?

I think everyone missed the fact that this thing took a hammer arm from a bewear. It definitely got some buffs in defensive stat with bewear having 125 atk and 100 bp fighting move.

Hopefully only if they make it one of the options because it was garbage. You can have it on but I don't want it.

Same for the "You're a winner! Congratulations!" end of battle music. Made sense in the S/M Champion battle to have dramatic you've won music since the first one was an exhibition match and the others are you as the Champion but changing the music mid-battle so it's no longer more competitive sounding? Fuck off.

Serious B2W2 vibes from the presentation in the UI and music. If USUM manages to have the same content I will be glad, thats enough for me. SM on a whole felt like a somewhat unfocused BW to me, so if they manage a somewhat unfocused B2W2 then thata a succes in my book, as an unfocused gen 5 is miles ahead of whatever the fuck was going on in gen 6 and better then the tail end of gen 4. Comfortably going to sit in my gen ranks at second place, god willing.

The Bewear is also 3 levels lower, but even then, the other 2 rock doggos wouldn't take a hit like that that well.

Unless they gave the Bewear a 0 IV in Attack and the dog a 31 in Defense and 252 Evs or something.

Actually in Gen 6 and 7, the HP gauge drains at a set speed based on the attack animation that preceded it. Aerial Ace, for example, lays a right smack down on the HP bar because of how fast the attack animation is.

A couple of the attacks in that video do have their HP bar animations sped up compared to the previous games. Looks like they're all set to max speed actually.

Could've been dev or movie magic though so you can't assume it's definitely how the game will be.

It's a trailer so they probably fudged the numbers in some way. Bewear has a really good Attack stat so I doubt it would have any trouble OHKOing Rock Doggo unless they go really overboard with the stat boosts.

Multiple factors.

Bewear may have bad IVs and nature.
Dusk may have defensive IVs and nature for the sake of the trailer. Plus we never saw exactly where its hp bar stopped despite it surviving.

The designs for the multitude of species can draw inspiration from anything, such as inanimate objects, real-world animals, mythology and etc.

Which actually wouldn't surprise me because it's defense is probably much higher than either of the other Formes. It lives that Bewear's Hammer Arm with 56 HP and even with an Attack negative naature a presumably wild (AKA no EVs) Level 40 Bewear on a fully Defensive Lycanroc Midnight's Base Defense it does 68 damage minimum (the attack there did 67).

Using a neutral nature lv43 Lycanroc(with Midnight stats since is bulkier) and a Modest 0 ivs Bewear we get this

The Lycanroc survives with 27 HP so it makes sense. However Dusk in the trailer has 123 HP at level 43 which means is less bulky than Midnight that has 126 with 0 ivs

If Dawndoggo ends up staying this event-exclusive Pokemon, it's going to be banned from a bunch of formats like Ash-Greninja is, so it being overpowered compared to the other two wouldn't really matter. On Smogon it'd be chosen over the other two every time, but it's not like any Lycanroc was getting a place on any non-Karenfag team anyway.

Dusk dog most likely won't have access to the egg moves that really abuse Tough Claws (elemental fangs, sucker punch and whatever else US-UM adds), so the other doggos still have their perks.

Finally, someone who shares my opinion on this. I don't understand how everyone can enjoy it so much and cite it as part of why they think Gen V's music was so good.

It sucked. I don't usually turn off music when I play through the story, but I started turning the sound off.

Same with the gym leader's last Pokemon music. I hated that, too.

A lot of events have egg moves, alternatively if it is just an event exclusive they can just edit dusk's movepool to include the fangs and sucker punch naturally, like a level 1 move reminder kind of deal.

The new ones ok, pretty good objectively and I love how your and your opponents bars are different colors

Hopefully they have a toggle in the settings to switch back and forth, that way everyones happy, they did something like it before with the touchscreen HUDS in XY

Music is an absolute 10/10 improvement

I'm cool with it in USUM. I felt SM's scribbles should've had it so your HP bar in Sun was orange, the opponent's was blue, and your Ability activated box was blue and their orange. Then vice-versa for Moon. Make the box at the bottom a neutral white or black, probably white to match the Z-Ring. I'd have gone for a color scheme like that here too though.

One of the things that really pisses me off about Sun/Moon is that they made it so fucking tedious to erase EV's from Pokemon. I want to challenge the E4 with my the original team being EV trained, but since the fucktards at GameFreak removed Super Training, you can't do that until you access most of the areas with the right Pokemon to yield the right EV's.

So now my team has scrambled EVs, and the only way to lower them is by feeding them the EV reducing berries that only drop like 10 per piece, and only grow like once a day.

WHAT THE FUCK WERE THEY FUCKING THINKING?

I may be autistic when it comes to games, especially Pokemon, but I'm not going to spend the next month farming fucking berries just so I can START EV training. I'd rather just overlevel my team to feel fucking powerful.

It's amazing how they got it right with ORAS and XY with Super Training, but completely fucked it up in this game.

Now that I threw my tantrum you guys think they'll fix this shit in US/UM or nah?

Look, nobody cares about EVing correctly during the main story, so it's not really much of an issue. It was much harder in pre-gen6 games than it was in gen6, which was incidentally the gen in which the games were retardedly easy.
As soon as you max level your pelago farm, which isn't really that hard, you can farm around 180 EV berries a day, which is more than enough for most uses.
