I was also rather annoyed that she got shafted so hard.. they could have done so much more, but it was instead so stupid that plumeria and ya boi guzma don't even interact a single time in the games

Yeah, banking on that as well,because as it is now, SM are 50% huge missed opportunities and cut content
I tell myself they "planned" USUM all the way back when they realized they can't make it with SM in regards to all the cut/shafted stuff
I have to tell myself that to keep some hope alive anyway..

Same reason her signature mon, Salazzle, got shafted.
Strong, dangerous women are just not appealing to the Japanese fans. Lusamine gets away with it because she's conventionally pretty, but Plumeria doesn't because she actually looks the part.

The first Pokemon on his team is Golisopod.
Golisopod comes from Wimpod, who you actually have to chase down in order to catch.
He probably caught it that way and figured he should do that every time.
