What makes me think this can't be real is the third to last line, how GF cannot handle the Switch, not in 3 years. Yet we recently got an announcement that a core series game is coming to the Switch in 2018/2019/whatever Reggie said. For this to match up, it'd have to release in 2020 at the earliest.

Pokemon nx development was hinted in 2015 though, because they said they wanted pokemon bank on the nx and masuda went to china. They would obviosly be the first ones to receive a devkit. They are even almost with the alola pokemon on the pakage of tcg. ohmori had to get trials in himself because he couldnt get the artists to do it. So they were probably working on the switch games since mid 2015.

Pokemon Switch is literally DP2 Electric Boogaloo. Switch(DS) is taking the world by storm, the 3DS(gba) is at its peak and won't sell more hardware, USUM(emerald) is not going to make any huge waves and its announced for the next year in a nonchalant way at e3(announced for fall 2005 at spaceworld). If you think its gonna be out in 2018 then you are fooled.

The difference is that the DS was a successor, as a handheld, to the GBA. It did everything the GBA did, save a few gimmicks, and this was handheld to handheld.

Pokemon Switch is radically changing the playstyle from handheld to home console.
For better or worse we'll see, but the context is completely different.

A guy on a certain Discord server I frequent works for TPCi and does Italian localisation and got to work on an upcoming trailer for a Pokemon Direct scheduled for some time in early September (before September 12 he said). These are the notes he made.

>Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon look like they are basically remixes of Sun and Moon set in alternate universe/s
>the storyline also similar though there are new areas and a new path you progress through the game on after leaving the first island (you go to Poni after Melemele, doesn't show the rest of the order)
>new areas shown off are an expanded Aether Paradise and the Akala Golf Course
>Cover Pokemon are actually both Necrozma forms, Sunne Form and Moone Form which appear to be formed when Necrozma absorbs the light that comes from Cosmoem
>what looks to be an exclusive Z-Move is used by both forms, though it looks like the same move on each of them
>multiple universes looks like it'll be important storywise as will Ultra Beasts, since numerous portals in different locations are shown in the trailer
>the world is uncannaliy similar with some key differences, like character designs and their personalities shifting a little bit but still recognisable
>first differences revealed are that Team Skull and Aether Foundation have their colour schemes switched while Sophocles is now a Steel Pokemon trainer and Molayne an Electric Pokemon trainer rather than the other way around
>interestingly this makes Lusamine's new outfit look kind of like Necrozma rather than Pheromosa and Guzma looks kind of like Kartana as opposed to his passing resemblance to Xurkitree
>being an alternate universe the Pokemon available are different from Sun and Moon, though none besides some of the new Alola Forms revealed are shown

It's blatant that these aren't sequels but are two-remasters-instead-of-one.

Though I doubt they'll bring Crystal-Emerald-Platinum level of change.
