The designs are: overdesigned.

My thoughts on viability is that both may receive a new species-exclusive Z-Move and if that happens then Solgaleo will have more use, for Lunala she will only rise more in Ubers.

We know nothing about them but design wise they are some of the worst looking legends yet. Lunala looks like some crazy Batman ripoff while Solgaleo looks like a techno lion with weird wings and bunny ears

Maybe Necrozma is a hollow shell that took on sentience or something, and this "alternative timeline" in USUM explains what it was originally used for? I have this feeling USUM is gonna take place in the past, before SM.
