My own opinions on Mimikyu is indifferent, I neither like it or hate it. But one of the reasons why I don't like it is it's design.

Mimikyu's design is overrated, it certainly isn't the worst, but it doesn't deserve the praise. It's design is completely unoriginal. You can easily give a similar backstory to Ditto or Zoroark and the they could act the same. While the disguise ability could be worked with a better design. When Mimikyu's disguise is busted, the head just loosely breaks, nothing else, barely any changes.

GF likes to put fairy types in cutesy things, but for Mimikyu's case, that's the only reason why it has the type, nothing else screams fairy type about Mimikyu. It could have just easily been a pure ghost type. Or unless GF gave it the type to deal with mold breaker mons, who are usually fighting or dark types. But why would GF focus on Mimikyu's viability when other alola mons are shit competitively? Because Mimikyu is a shilled mon, of course...
