I've caught a few shiny Pokemon, but none I was really interested in. Always caught in wild:
Onix and Ponyta in HG
Voltorb or Electrode in New Mauville from an overworld Sprite

And most recently a shiny Budew in my Platinum nuzlocke

Pretty much these, i find a random shiny in all my pokemon games, actually in Pokemon moon after the professor give the balls the first pokemon i find was a shiny Yungoos

Alternatively, I've been playing since Red and clock 3-500 hours a game(usually go for remakes third versions).
Have yet to find a single shiny, even in games where I had the charm.

I don't actively look for them via chaining or anything, but none.

I think the only shiny I found during the main story I found in Sun was a Pikpek.

I not lucky. If I put 300 hours into a game I'm likely to find a shiny since I never use repels. In the new games the odds have shrunk to the point that shiny pokemon are not as impressive in my opinion.

I don't get this. Do you really not know how to transfer stuff from a ROM to the current games? I see this a lot and it's so simple, just use pkhex on the save and extract the Pokemon file, and then inject with whatever method you have available. A homebrewed 3DS can do all of them.
