>>33327147important speed tiers to note:
>40-45 base speed. Mostly useful but niche shitmons and alola mons. Can invest about 120ish EVs in speed to outspeed neutral base 60 speed mons.
>60-65 speed. A lot of strong pokemon here. Mostly walls and bulky pivots. Needs about 180ish speed EVs to outspeed a neutral base 80 speed mon.
>base 80 speedMons a plenty here. Many of them are good OU and UU monsters. Lots of walls, bulky offense, supports, clerics, legendaries and a pig. At this speed tier it is worth it to consider going choice scarf. A mon would need around 145 base speed to outspeed a scarfer at base 80.
>base 90This used to be an acceptable amount of speed for a sweeper but this speed tier has since been massively power creeped. Lando, arcanine and a washing machine reside in this speed tier. Those 3 mons are very flexible and their speed investment will depend on the player who's using them though most often they're be low.
>base 100 This is fantastic speed for a sweeper in UU. If your mon is here then its not a bad idea to fully invest into speed.
>base 102Congratulations. You are Garchomp, stalwart guardian of OU. As garchomp it is your job to keep those heathen base 90-100 speed wanabe sweeper shitters in UU where they belong. As ever we thank you for your hard work. Now and always.
>120 and 130 speed Legendaries, Megas and Jolteon. That base 80 choice scarf mon can still keep up with these acceleration demons.
>base 145mega-sceptile and mega beedrill speed tie here.
>base 150 Mega-dactyl and mega alakazam. A base 90 positive natured mon can outspeed with a choice scarf and a heavy investment into speed EVs.
>base 151Congratulations. You are Pheromosa
(not Pheromosaar). You don't really do much of anything anymore. Because you're banned. Have fun reminiscing about the good old days and enjoy your retirement!
