If anything Hidden Power remains the single inconsistent variable when breeding since you're still relying on pure RNG to give you what you want.
With all the consistency GF has added to make breeding, catching and filtering down perfect IVs, hidden abilities etc. you'd think there would be some way to tip the scales in favor of any particular hidden power you want - but no, it's still a crap-shoot.
If anything specific Hidden Powers for competitive battling (especially ones that don't roll shitty Power rating) are the single most relevant argument inject fags have as otherwise no matter how good your breeding stock is you're just rolling the proverbial dice waiting for that number you want to show up.
