I'm sure HD Console Pokemon gen 8 will have similer hype season because muh graphics

Sun and Moon did because so many of us were disappointed with XY and ORAS, we all thought that the change in director, it being the 20th anniversary title, the first game in many years after a year with no game, and the "it all comes together" stuff meant they would be amazing 11/10 games to blow everything old completely out of the water.

I think hype levels will be out of this world with the Switch version and gen 8. Probably levels short of this >>33357766

The idea of the first HD pokemon games is truly exciting.

BW was the most fun with speculation and shitposting without being based in disinformation. XY had the best reactions and craziest shitstorms to official material. SM hype was just cancer in every way.

And on the sites I went to back when, DP hype was pretty nice despite being stretched out over two years primarily consisting of nothing. It was a time of wide eyed innocence, and dreams and hope that could never be crushed.

Gen 4 was prettyo dope for me, as someone leaked the actual dex translated in french to a fansite but instead of giving everything they revealed them a pokémon at once at random time, until japanese release where we'd know all of them.

And after UBS got introduced hell broke loose on a whole new level...I remember when everyone was like omg smt-style-superbosses! Please be catchable. Or muh, please dont be catable! Useable at battle tree? Yay, beasts=new meta... And all that story speculation and hopes regarding skull and aether. And alolan forms had a lot of hype and fans too. Its a shame the games couldnt hold up to all of this expectations...
