Trainers. 60-70% of Pokémon games are in the battle system; it's a core mechanic. So the battles you have against characters with as much supposed free will as you are crucial to the game's overall pace, immersion, difficulty, and fun factor. But is it really that easy?

How do you suppose trainer battles should be written? Do you like easy fights with characters just showcasing rarer, not seen before Pokémon on the chopping block? Were you upset with how the dancing rival was executed with X/Y, maybe; that perhaps a rival with a team's gimmick that extends into it's moveset is the way to go? Or perhaps, do you want a challenge with your fights, and have competent trainers using the best they can find to flatten you? If you prefer a balance, where do you draw the line?
