I used a grubbin in my first moon playthrough. Charjabug is actually suprisingly decent, it dished out respectable damage and was even pretty bulky with eviolite. You had to wait for the move reminder for Vikavolt to be useful, but once I did it was able to pull its wight in the league.

Agreed, if electric canyon had been around level 35, i would have held on to him. But chargabug was long past the point of dead weight by the time the canyon rolled around.

Oddly, I have great success using it on an all bug baton pass team.

I can't help but wonder if, originally, you could evolve Charjabug or
Crabrawler earlier in the story, but they had to move the location order around at some point in development. It will be interesting to see what changes from SM to USM.

I wasn't a big fan of it prerelease actually. Prebank I used it with full investment in Defense and it was decent as a slow Volt Switcher with Roost. Bug/Electric has alright resistances with Levitate and it could take a few hits from Pheromosa.
