It should have stayed with gyms in the first place - gyms are a staple to the pokémon franchise and removing them in favour for more childish trials, without any battles was a poor move in my opinion. I'm glad this might mean that we are getting gyms back. (I did find the Wela Volcano one funny at least)

Not him, don't even think Gyms are coming back. But what does that even have to fucking do since BW doesn't have a set gym building design.
If you didn't play BW, you wouldn't even know what would be a gym and what not on this map. You'd probably claim there is no gyms in Unova.

Don't compare less elaborate map designs from the pre-3ds era to the SM map I'd say, that's all. There's almost nothing in Alola that was not visible on the map pre-release (only small irrelevant things)

Although, I can see some gym buildings even on the BW map, so there you go.
The best thing anyone can hope for is that trials have been changed/improved to resemble gyms more in the way they are handled, but they won't be called gyms nor be gyms

Not that anon, but probably because the volcano looks the same as it did in SM, and on the new USUM map, there's no smoke coming out of the whole volcano area, which led people to believe it might be inactive now and that it might have become a real dungeon.

I don't care, I like totem fights + Kahuna fights more than a single gym leader battle, but the trials themselves are inferior to even the worst of gym puzzles, so I hope they did something to remedy that

Kiawe is a dancer, he wasnt dancing in SM trial so hw will dance this time around, Hiker will ask the questions for Kiawe. Thats why he asks "who am i?" And the follows with "no, im not trial captain but i was asked to guide you through the trial"

I see, well not that I would mind different totems, but daywolf is really underwhelming for a totem if you ask me, unless they buff its defenses with totem aura.
It's still not confirmed to be a totem, though, but it can be.

I didn't grind I just battled every trainer I came across.
The totems are easy if you know what moves are best to have/use. Bulldoze knocks out Salazzle pretty easy with a 4X weakness.

still comparing more simplistic maps to the pretty elaborate SM map. Trials aren't going anywhere, the volcano area is still called "totem's den". At best, trials will now be made better/expanded, but they aren't getting replaced
