Plus, why would she use a PokeRide in the graveyard, it's not like there's anything to push. Otherwise they just would have make both the woman and Machamp stand next to each other, not going through the "effort" of doing a new model of the woman with a helmet and animate it

She's riding her Machamp because it's the new gimmick and they have to show it, it's clearly just showing someone close to a Pokémon who is all they have left.

Yea the tone is not remotely dark or upsetting. I was busy laughing at the fact she's gotten all dressed up in the Pokérider gear (which is for RENTED Pokémon, even though she's wearing it for one she owns apparently) in a fucking graveyard

Then why do they show it in an easter egg scene instead of showing litterally any other trainer using it throughout the game ?
I understand the way you see it, but how would she have known that her husband put Machamp back in his ball during the crash, if his husband is dead ?
Plus your interpretation can add up to mine, since it shows Pokeride are not just for trainer travelling the world, but also people who are in need, showing how Pokemon and human interact in everyday lives

Machamp could have been in his ball all along, pretty sure human don't understand Pokemon language like they do in Lassie Come Home
Also the lady doesn't wear rented clothes, she wear a normal t-shirt and a short and a simple helmet, unlike the protag that have to put a whole body suit.
(Also can you give me an example of people using Pokeride in game ? Because I genuinly don't remember any)

The game is not the anime, Pokemon can convey emotions, but cannot tell a full fleshed out story. At least we don't have any example in any mainline game
Plus, she wears the helmet for the same reason you have to wear all this shit : Security. You know, in case Machamp accidentally drop her, I guess.

I guess there could be some paraplegic NPC who sits in his house and battles you, but there really isn't a point in establishing that usually. Plus what other anons already said about better medical technology and this being a fantasy kid's game.

In the early games I'd assume it's both sprite limitations and because it'd be a pointless trainer class. You wouldn't see that many handicapped trainers. With the later games being in 3D and also introducing trainer classes that are very minor/unique, I'd assume it's so they can keep reusing animations for everyone. Making a totally unique generic would be too much effort for something that isn't all that special in the end.
