Poison is now SE against two types, vs. bugs three types, and the three types bug is SE against aren't that hard to hit SE otherwise, like dark/psychic/grass.
7 types resist bug, only 4 resist poison. poison has a type immune to it which balances a little better, but fairy being fucking everywhere makes poison an extremely viable coverage move. Nobody ever uses bug as a coverage move, because if you want to hit a grass type, ice or flying is better, if you want to hit psychic, plenty of special attackers get shadow ball, if you want to hit dark, use fairy or fighting for much better coverage. People only get a false sense of impression that bug is decent because there are a few good users of uturn and that's it
I run monotype bug all the time and it is extremely rare I even bother with bug type attacks. A couple of special attackers will have bug buzz when their movepool doesn't have much else, and a couple of bugs can use leech life decently, but almost everything resists bug.
