You know, with Alola being chock full of sacred lands, It got me thinking, what other places in Pokemon could be considered sacred and why?

Some areas in Sinnoh, some areas in Hoenn region, some Ares Unova region and etc, because of the legendaries.

Not him but yeah the towers are pretty clearly sacred. Sprout Tower might qualify as well since there are monks all over it.

Pokemon Tower (though not sacred enough to not get torn down), Mt. Pyre, Sky Pillar, arguably the Cave of Origin, the Regi caves, Snowpoint Temple, Desert Resort, etc.

The Regi areas are a special case because while they are clearly important, they're less revered and more outright feared.

If I had to compile a list of "sacred" locations in the Pokemon world, this would be it. Most of them are associated with legendary Pokemon. Can't think of any for Kalos.

There's the Desert Resort ruins, where Volcarona can be found. It's not a legendary, but it was revered.

It's been a long time since I saw the movie, I was a kid when I last saw it. But I didn't think his death was the plot; he avoided death in the beginning, and the plot of the movie was about preparing for the end of the world, or figuring out the mysteries behind it.
