They really need to either have ~20 new Alolan variants or open up a lot of new areas in the game. Preferably both.

They need to show something to garner hype though. An orange lycanroc aint gonna cut it, and teasing well loved features only for them to be not in it will just garner resentment and disappointment.

Ryuki is a musician from another region and there's a rocker or guitarist in the Vermilion Gym in every game except FRLG. I don't know why they'd make that reference when Ryuki is a Dragon trainer but I doubt it's a coincidence.

Ironically, the characters really made the entire game that much less garbage. But even then. Whenever they showed up the game became oversaturated with fucking cutscenes.
