Still buttmad I see. There's already anough fire starters in game. We need more grass and what better way to introduce battle bond Decidueye as a seceret character? He will be strong and OP but he secret so that is very okay.

I didn't go into this intending to include so many from Gen V, but that's how it turned out. There are some very interesting possibilities there.

Hoopa, very slow long range movement with very fast short range attacks and portals

Hitmonlee, signature move being able to use it's legs like a grapple to smash it's body in to the enemy for damage and land in front of them

Glalie, plays like a top and can create slippery floors to further raise it's speed

Galvantula, mid range electric attacks and the ability to climb and leap from walls

The idea was to get a bunch decently popular pokemon that either have weird body types (palm tree, snake) or unorthodox fighting styles (krookodile's bite based combat).

Well I said you would change as soon as you attacked, so you wouldn't have to animate any Pokémon with Zoroark's moves. But, I guess it would be easier to make it change as soon as it entered the battle, and that way you wouldn't have to deal with potentially conflicting speed movements or something, either.

I like Pokken but it's quite obvious the game had a low budget that went almost entirely into designing the battle system and the characters themselves. Which isnt neccesarily a bad thing, in fact it's great that they managed to set their priorities straight for once, but the majority of the Pokemon fanbase was clearly only interested in fanservice and not a fighting game that would be fun to play. Case in point: all that complaining about the roster size, not using remixed music from the main series instead of the original creations, or not using iconic locations from the main series as an inspiration for the stages.

I guess in order to succeed the Pokken devs should've went the Dragon Ball way - add as many characters as humanly possible, put some iconic stages/music Smash Bros. style and worry about the gameplay and balance later. Lazy? Yes. Smash hit with the fans? Absolutely.

Serious question, can Pokken still be saved? With the massive hate it got after the infamous Pokemon Direct I'm surprised they're still willing to support it at this point.

Give it a move that allows it to change forme. Keep the moveset mostly the same between formes, with maybe a few moves that change completely based on the forme you're in, but have the play style be different depending on what forme you use. Speed forme as a rushdown character, Attack as a ranged heavy-hitter. To balance out Defense forme's lower damage output and speed, load the thing up with Super Armor or something. Psycho Boost for its Burst Attack.
Or just put Normal form in as a standard fighter and have to change to Attack Forme for Burst Mode.

Heavy hitter up close, with access to a couple of command grabs as well. Decent at medium range, not great at longer ranges but can still land hits with Thunder and Focus Blast and whatnot. Burst Move could be a Physical reimagining of Giga Volt Havoc, or just some combo of attacks ending with Electivire slamming its tails into the target.

>Kommo-O- Power
Slow and tanky, with a decent mix of ranged and physical moves but definitely better up close than at a distance. Burst Move could be Clangorous Soulblaze.

No real fleshed out ideas for the other two. Bisharp would be cool though, maybe Beedrill too. Oh and bring back the random button.
