This fucker is the only one that gave me problems in johto. You just had to hit the cow several times until it died, I bet that all of the retards that lose against it just catch male pokemon.

It's because you could plow through the game with your starter until that point if you picked Cyndaquil. Miltank will usually tear through Quilava before it can really do anything in response.

It's similar to how Brock would wall you if you tried to plow through the game with Bulbasaur or Charmander.

People always say it's Charmander, but it's actually Bulbasaur that has the hardest time with Brock. Unlike the other starters, it's stuck with only Tackle until 13. You have to overlevel Bulbasaur for it to take down Brock easily.

Meanwhile, Onix has such a low special that Ember does pretty high damage to it despite the 4x resist.

I don't mean the glitches, I mean stuff like the fact that Psychic type is unstoppable, the AI will refuse to attack if a status move is super effective, and some moves do the opposite of what they're supposed to do or don't do anything at all.

As a reminder to all the underage in this thread. She has the highest of every stat except spatk and spdef you encounter up to that point and is the first time you see the moves Attract and Rollout in the game, and with her high speed she can stomp/attract hax you to death while healing with Milk Drink and snowball into a very strong Rollout before you even figure out that it gets progressively stronger the more she uses it.
Now you kids have your internets and your guides but back then we had none of that shit.

We did too have guides, but guides weren't always reliable or complete. Now you kids can get Serebii on your phone and complain here about gamestop events while when I was your age I was reading beckett issues at walmart for info on this elusive 'serebii' and whether it'd come to the states like mew, and I walked thirty-aught miles in the snow to do it, too.
